  • What is Shopz?

    A: Shopz is an IBM e-business solution which allows you to order IBM zSeries software products and service over the Internet.

  • Do I need to register for Shopz?

    A: Yes. Shopz registration requires you to provide your IBM customer number(s).

  • What is a user group and how do I become a member of a one?

    A: Shopz access is now controlled through user groups. A user group controls access for a set of customer numbers belonging to a company within a specific country. If you are already registered from Shopz but a user group has not yet been created for your customer numbers, your existing Shopz user ID continue to work as before. To enjoy the many benefits of user groups, such as added control and collaboration, please contact your marketing representative to have a group set up for your customer numbers. Once a user group has been created for your customer numbers, your Shopz user ID will automatically be included as a member of that user group.

  • Is my personal information kept secure?

    A: Absolutely! All of your data is transferred over a secure connection.

  • What does it cost?

    A: Nothing! Shopz is a free service for IBM z Systems customers.

  • Do I need to install any software to use Shopz?

    A: No. Shopz is a simple Internet Web site, so all you need to use it is an Internet connected workstation with a Web browser. For best results enable JavaScriptTM and cookies and disable pop-up blockers.

  • Can Shopz be used in my country?

    A: Shopz can be used in any country to order service. It can also be used in many countries to order products. Click "Product catalog" on the left navigation bar to determine if product ordering is available in your country. If it is not, please contact your IBM representative (or Business Partner) to handle your order via the traditional IBM ordering process.

  • Which operating environments does Shopz support?

    A: The z/OS, z/VM and z/VSE operating environments are all supported.

  • Can I view Shopz product catalogs without having to sign in or place an order?

    A: Yes. The Product catalog page is always available from the left navigation bar.
