IBM Infoprint Server and print transforms for z/OS

Infoprint Server and print transforms at a glance
Component Description/Value
Print Interface (a component of Infoprint Server for z/OS) Print Interface extends robust JES print serving capabilities to users and applications in the LAN and z/OS UNIX System Services environments. It receives and processes print submissions from remote clients and the local z/OS system. Print Interface can validate print jobs and invoke data stream transforms if required.
Printer Inventory (a component of Infoprint Server for z/OS) Infoprint Server uses a single printer inventory to define all of its supported printers and email destinations. The inventory contains system configuration information for IP Printway, Print Services Facility (PSF) and AFP Download Plus (PSF feature),so you can define AFP, ASCII and VTAM-controlled printers and email destinations all in one place.
IP PrintWay (a component of Infoprint Server for z/OS) IP PrintWay routes print data on the JES spool from z/OS to a printer or print server in a TCP/IP or SNA network and to email destinations. It uses standard LPR/LPD protocol, direct-socket printing, or IPP. IP PrintWay support for the HP Printer Job Language (PJL) protocol enables tracking of the number of pages printed and job restarts after errors.
Infoprint Central (a component of Infoprint Server for z/OS) Infoprint Central is a Web-based print management system that lets help desk, operators, authorized users and job submitters work with print jobs, printers controlled by IP PrintWay extended mode or PSF, and NetSpool logical units. Infoprint Central lets operators display printer definitions, check system status, and view job and printer messages.
NetSpool™ (a component of Infoprint Server for z/OS) NetSpool automatically re-routes VTAM application output, such as from CICS and IMS applications, to the JES spool without requiring application program changes. From there print files can be sent to ASCII printers using IP PrintWay, or to AFP printers using Print Services Facility (PSF). Because print jobs are managed by the z/OS JES spool, they are secure and recoverable. z/OS accounting information for print jobs is logged automatically
