How it works

Any high school or university student can compete in the Master the Mainframe contest and anyone can use the Learning System. There are 3 parts to your journey.

Part 1

Learn the basics

Meet the mainframe and complete step-by-step instructions to become familiar with the user interface, basic concepts, and data structures.

Part 2

Practice

Program commands, system setup and navigation. Develop with C, JAVA, COBOL, assembler and REXX. Experience IBM Z operating systems including Linux, z/VM, z/OS, z/TPF.

Part 3

Try challenges

Test your expertise. Dive deeper using real life scenarios encountered by experienced mainframe systems programmers.
