|Abstract: The digital transformation is at the heart of innovation strategies for organizations in every industry – providing new growth opportunities as traditional business models and processes are disrupted and transformed. |
Data is the key resource in the digital economy and trust becomes essential in all interactions. Organizations need to innovate more rapidly, and the speed to adapt new paradigms is accelerating at an unprecedented rate. These business drivers are continuously confronting IT departments with new requirements. In order to be the center of modern business strategies and decisions, any IT solution must be agile enough to support continuous business changes and rapid development. For such an environment, which can guarantee an optimal user experience in an increasingly IoT-driven and mobile world, you need a stable, always available and performing runtime platform. In addition, you need to process and integrate data from these new sources with your core backend systems.
Traditional IT often fails to deliver against these new requirements. Cloud based systems are the next evolutionary step towards addressing the demands of a digital world. A future architecture needs to integrate core systems and existing processes into the new, multi-speed delivery models of digitized value chains within modern enterprises.
Hybrid Cloud environments are the solution to address this integration: they help to leverage the benefits of cloud computing within the existing IT and application landscape. This Executive Point of View Paper will illustrate how IBM Z helps build an integrated business platform as hybrid cloud environment for a digitalized world.
