WebSphere Application Server for z/OS

Abstract: The z15 introduced an embedded compression capability that significantly reduces the cost of doing compression (and decompression). WebSphere Liberty supports compressed payloads over HTTP requests. In these whitepapers we take a look at how well that compression support works with Liberty and how you can exploit it in your own applications.

This paper looks at the experiments conducted with Liberty and z15 compression and the results that were achieved.

This paper considers a simple HTTP based application and shows what may need to be done to exploit z15 compression capabilities.
