Abstract: In addition to the traditional System z operating systems (z/OS®, z/VM®, z/VSE® and z/TPF) that support the TS7700 Virtualization Engine, the focus here are on opportunities for the TS7700 Virtualization Engine to be used with Linux for System z. We’ll first discuss a new product in Tivoli®, the IBM Tivoli Storage Manager for z/OS Media, and how it can be used with the TS7700 Virtualization Engine. Then we’ll discuss how Linux on System z guests running under z/VM can also access the TS7700 Virtualization Engine. This lets you expand and protect your TS7700 Virtualization Engine investment with opportunities for Linux on System z data.
