Abstract: This white paper provides a technical "getting started" introduction for sending z/OS events to Netcool/OMNIbus via the Tivoli Event Pump for z/OS. The paper describes the Event Pump architecture, key configuration aspects of the Event Pump components, and the steps needed to enable z/OS events to flow into Netcool/OMNIbus. It also provides an example of how a z/OS message would be captured, sent, and viewed in Netcool/OMNIbus. Use of the Event Pump provides a way to integrate and correlate z/OS Events with events from other environments, and support end-to-end application and service monitoring and management.
