Abstract: This white paper demonstrates how IBM XIV Storage System with its enhanced IBM Real-time Compression feature enabled, can reduce storage capacity needed for the primary data with minimal impact on application performance. IBM Real-time Compression effectively decreases the consumption of storage capacity and can be used with file systems and Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM) disk groups that store Oracle data files. The paper also highlights the performance numbers with XIV model 214 and XIV model 314. |
