Search tips

  1. At least one filter selection or keyword should be specified to execute a search. You can apply filters as needed to narrow your result and remove then to expand your search result.
  2. Use double quotes (" ") to specify an exact phrase or when you need to use special search characters such as + or -.
Examples: "c++", "end-to-end", or "Java applet"
  3. Use a space between keywords if courses must contain both of the words or phrases.
Example: Java WebSphere searches for courses containing both of the words Java and WebSphere
  4. Use a pipe character (|) if courses must contain at least one of the words or phrases.
Example: Java | WebSphere searches for courses containing either the word Java or the word WebSphere
  5. Use a minus character (-) to exclude a word or phrase
Example: Java -WebSphere searches for courses that contain the word Java and not the word WebSphere
  6. Use the asterisk character (*) as a wildcard to broaden your search.
Example: Program* searches for courses containing words that begin with Program such as: Program, Programmer, Programming, Programmable, etc.
  7. Combine these rules for advanced searches.
Example: "Java Applet" + Program* -WebSphere searches for courses that contain the exact phrase Java Applet and a variation of the word Program (i.e. Program, Programmer, Programming,Programmable, etc.) but not the word WebSphere
