ARMONK, NY & COPENHAGEN, DENMARK - 09 Jun 2005: IBM today announced it has been awarded an eight-year contract with the Copenhagen-based telecommunications company TDC to develop and maintain TDC's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications.

As a strategic IT partner, IBM will provide application maintenance and development support needed for TDC to stay responsive and competitive through a flexible pool of IT resources. The agreement also provides TDC with access to IBM's significant innovation and transformation competence in the telecommunications industry and within the ERP application area.

IBM Nordic region cements its lead position
"With this agreement, IBM further strengthens our skill base and commitment to our Nordic customers by creating the largest Oracle and PeopleSoft team in Denmark, complementing our existing leadership capability in SAP. The scale of the resources, the depth of skills now available and the best practices they employ mean that IBM will deliver the highest levels of service, flexibility and value to all of its customers in the Nordic region, with local skills backed by global scale," said Stephen Murdoch, vice president communications sector, IBM EMEA. "On an international level, IBM continuously makes investments to keep our leading position as a supplier for the Telco sector. We look at this agreement as a continuation and extension of the close cooperation IBM already has with TDC."

New carrier opportunities
As part of the agreement, more than 100 TDC employees will join IBM's experienced team in application maintenance and development.

"The agreement with IBM provides us with access to strong IT competencies within the ERP area and secures the needed flexibility in our deliveries," says Klaus Pedersen, President, TDC Services. "TDC looks forward to the increased collaboration with great expectations. At the same time, it means that our own IT resources can focus on development of core systems related to client, order, and infrastructure areas," he added.
