ARMONK, N.Y. - 24 Jun 2002: To address the needs of the growing number of medium-sized companies looking for IT services to help manage their business, IBM today announced the "Manage It for Me" program, a suite of services offerings and attractive financing to enable customers with fewer than 1,000 employees to outsource their computer operations to IBM Global Services.

The 20 new services enable medium-sized businesses to budget their computer costs, and to take advantage of the latest in security, hosting and management services from IBM. Having IBM manage these functions frees both information-technology and line-of-business executives to focus on their core business operations, while IBM assists them with their computer needs.

"Over the past decade, IBM Global Services has grown to become the world's leading IT services company and the top consultant firm," said Ralph Martino, vice president of strategy and marketing for IBM Global Services. "When combined with IBM's knowledge of the unique needs of medium-sized businesses, we can deliver specialized services to companies that want to use technology to help them gain competitive advantage."

According to AMI-Partners, medium-sized businesses are expected to spend $150 billion on information technology over the next few years, with 60 percent of their IT expenditures going to services costs. Because medium-sized businesses want to budget their IT costs, IBM Global Financing is offering financing to qualified customers for initial one-time charges for IT products and services, sold by IBM directly or through IBM Authorized Business Partners. Financing permits critical projects to be undertaken faster, regardless of budget restraints, and turns large upfront expenses into affordable monthly payments.

The "Manage It for Me" services are based upon experience that IBM Global Services has had with hundreds of custom engagements over the past decade. IBM will deliver the services, which can be combined to provide customized packages, directly through its sales force and the through the IBM Business Partner network.
