Report: IBM Interactive Experience Named Largest Global Digital Agency by Advertising Age in Annual Agency Report

IBM Interactive Experience changing traditional agency landscape as it lands top spot for second consecutive year

ARMONK, N.Y. - 11 May 2015: IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced that for the second consecutive year, Advertising Age (Ad Age) named IBM Interactive Experience the largest digital agency network worldwide in its Agency Report for 2015, based on an evaluation of more than 1,000 advertising, media and marketing services agencies and networks. The report includes rankings based on U.S. and worldwide revenue.

The annual Agency Report noted that the agency landscape continues to change, as traditional agency firms face competition from consulting and tech firms, including IBM Interactive Experience. As a whole, Ad Age reported that digital work has been grabbing share from non-digital agency work, making up nearly 40 percent of U.S. agency revenue in 2014.

IBM Interactive Experience brings the physical and digital worlds together to create world class experiences. For example, IBM recently announced a strategic partnership with AMB Sports & Entertainment (AMBSE) to improve the fan experience at the state-of-the-art new Atlanta stadium set to open in 2017. IBM will leverage the power of mobility to create a highly contextual, more personalized game day experience for fans through the integration of analytics, mobile, social, security and cloud technologies. IBM has decades of experience transforming the fan experience at major global sporting events such as Wimbledon, French Open, Australian Open, Masters Golf Tournament and the U.S. Open golf and tennis championships.

In addition to recognition as the largest worldwide digital agency network:

  • IBM Interactive Experience maintained third on Ad Age’s list of U.S. largest agencies from all disciplines.
  • IBM Interactive Experience maintained ninth on Ad Age’s list of worldwide largest agencies from all disciplines
  • IBM Interactive Experience was 10th on Ad Age’s list of consolidated agency networks, up from 15th last year.

“IBM Interactive Experience is at the forefront of a new class of hybrid digital agency, management consultancy, and global systems integrator. By fusing big data and analytics with industry consulting and world-class design, we’re able to deliver clients and their customers a truly transformational experience,” said Paul Papas, Global Leader, IBM Interactive Experience. “By combining digital and physical elements with beautiful design, we’re able to provide unmatched customer experiences that drive business growth.”

The top ranking falls on the heels of IBM’s recognition in "The Forrester Wave™: Mobile Enterprise App Services Providers – Large Providers, Q1 2015.” The report named IBM a leader among large enterprise mobile app services providers. Forrester recognized IBM's deep talent and track record across client needs for mobile enterprise app services, blending its portfolio of technology and business consulting skills with creative design talent from IBM Interactive Experience.
