LOS ANGELES - 14 Apr 1999: . . . IBM expanded its e-business arsenal today with new services and software that help companies understand and create real value from e-business. The new offerings, which bring IBM's industrial strength technology and know-how to growing small and medium businesses as well as large companies, bolster IBM's position as the only vendor that can help companies transform, build, run and leverage end-to-end e-business solutions.

Today's announcements build on IBM's extensive experience helping executives answer key questions, such as: how e-business can be harnessed for a particular business and industry; what's the return on investment (ROI); how to link back-end business systems with the Web interface; how to deliver predictable performance; and how to help ensure around-the-clock accessibility, redundancy and business recovery.

"Behind the hype of the Internet there's hard work involved in making sure the Web delivers real business results," said Buzz Waterhouse, general manager, e-business, IBM Global Services. "The services and software we're announcing today help customers navigate the complexity, make sound business decisions about what's right for their company and provide practical, integrated solutions. We're addressing the 'business' in e-business."
