SOMERS, N.Y - 28 Apr 2000: -- Somers, N.Y.--IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced that its WebSphere Application Server(1) has been awarded Network Magazine's Product of the Year, beating out offerings from BEA, Oracle and Sun to win one of the industry's most coveted awards.

The award, based on internal reviews by the editors of Network Magazine, was not open to outside vendor input, reinforcing WebSphere's leadership in the application server market by recognizing the product's outstanding performance, reliability, and scalability.
