i2 and Ariba Expand Relationship Through New Reseller Agreement; Deals Designed to Accelerate Success of IBM-i2-Ariba Alliance's Open, Modular Approach

White Plains - 10 Oct 2000: Ariba, i2 Technologies and IBM today announced an expansion of their B2B alliance through a new reseller agreement between Ariba and i2 that now allows each company to resell the others' interoperable B2B solutions. The new agreement between Ariba and i2 adds to reseller agreements in place since March 2000 between each company and IBM.

This new Ariba-i2 agreement underscores the successful modular and customer-focused approach of the Alliance to deliver interoperable solutions from any combination of Alliance companies to meet B2B customers' varied and
specific requirements. This flexible approach has already secured more than 25 alliance customer wins for a variety of private and public e-marketplaces, procurement and supply chain collaboration implementations. Examples of
announced customers include e2open, Omnexus, MetalSpectrum, Transora, and Worldwide Retail Exchange.

This announcement also follows news from several Alliance customers who have recently announced that their e-marketplaces are now live and functioning using interoperable Alliance solutions, such as Omnexus (the plastics e-marketplace); the Worldwide Retail Exchange; and MetalSpectrum (the online metals marketplace, which opened for registration on Sept. 29th).

Ariba will resell the leading e-business applications of i2 TradeMatrix, including i2 Infinite Content, Content Services, Sell Solutions, Collaborative Services and other TradeMatrix components. Having access to i2 Infinite Content
libraries, for example, means that Ariba customers could incrementally add 15 million SKUs for direct and indirect procurement to help standardize their B2B offerings.

i2 will continue to resell market-leading applications of the Ariba(R) B2B Commerce Platform, including Ariba Marketplace, Ariba Dynamic Trade and Ariba Buyer solutions.
