Aegon Life Selects IBM Cloud to Enhance Customer Experience

IBM Hybrid Cloud platform to enable customer’s ‘Digital and Direct’ model
IBM Resiliency Services will help to accelerate business response

Bengaluru, KARNATAKA, India - 07 Dec 2016: IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced a multi-million dollar, five-year agreement with Aegon Life Insurance Company Limited, to provide a hybrid cloud solution hosted from IBM datacenters in New Mumbai and Bangalore. This will enable them to more quickly launch new products to the market, while improving the efficiency of its IT operations.

As a part of the agreement, IBM will also help maintain continuous business operations and improve overall business resiliency via the IBM Cloud through the IBM datacenter in Mumbai, while creating a scalable IT service platform for Aegon Life India’s infrastructure and applications environment.

Aegon is one of the world’s leading financial service organizations that provides life insurance, pensions and asset management across the globe. Aegon Life in India provides its clients the option to buy policies digitally and wants to enhance the customer experience by working with IBM.

The opening of the marketplace to new entrants meant that consumers have a choice of service providers to go to, making it critical for Aegon Life to maintain its competitive edge. To enhance their customers’ experience and make it easier for them to purchase insurance policies and plans, the company decided to migrate to a ‘direct to consumer and digital’ model by creating an online portal, powered by IBM Cloud.

Aegon Life not only required a seamless IT infrastructure scale-up to meet the growing needs of its clients, but it also wanted to ensure that its business minimized the potential for downtime.  Aegon Life turned to IBM to support their IT environments’ transition to IBM hybrid cloud that would enable faster time to market. This will allow Aegon Life to more easily connect and engage better with their customers. A robust IT infrastructure will enhance the company’s digital journey and will provide their customers with the option of making online financial purchases.
