Amanda Johnston-Pell is the Chief Marketing Officer and Chief of Startups for IBM Australia and New Zealand, and leads a team across Australia, New Zealand and India. Amanda is also a Board Director of IBM Australia Ltd, reporting to the Managing Director.

Amanda brings to IBM deep, customer-centric marketing and leadership experience, as IBM accelerates its transformation to a Cloud and Cognitive platform company. Her entrepreneurial credentials as co-founder and founding co-CEO of a New York based start-up have helped drive agility, cohesion and a growth mind-set within the Marketing and Communications function.

Most recently, Amanda was appointed Non-Executive Director of SuperConcepts, AMP Limited's Self Managed Super Fund (SMSF) business. SuperConcepts is one of the largest providers of SMSF admin and software services in Australia, a disruptor in the market and leader in the transformation of the SMSF sector. 

Amanda is also a Non-Executive Director of the Australian American Leadership Dialogue (AALD) and NED Committee Member of the Young Leadership Dialogue Program (YLD). The AALD is a private diplomatic initiative, which brings together Australian and American leaders from government, enterprise, media, education and the community to help review and refine the parameters of the Australian-American bilateral relationship.

Previously, Amanda served as Executive Director Brands and Marketing Communications Group of Telstra and Executive Director Sales & Marketing of BigPond, Telstra’s Internet and New Media Division. She has held senior management positions in North America and consulted to Boards and Senior Executives in the Asia Pacific market around business and marketing management (particularly those going through significant transformational change), early stage Technology and Social Media companies, and the Telecom Industry in developed and developing countries.

Amanda holds a Master of Science (University of Massachusetts, Amherst, USA), Bachelor Human Movement Studies - Education (University of Queensland) and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
