Collaborating on a global scale

How IBM engineers are collaborating with clients, business partners, ISV's and education institutions across the globe

Each week, IBM will highlight a story from around the world where IBM engineers are collaborating with clients, business partners, ISV's and education institutions to bring the latest technology to the market in new and innovative ways.

Did you know...

...that for the first time students at Budapest Polytechnic Institution (Budapest Tech) will be able to take a course specifically designed to teach the key components of the next generation Cell Broadband Engine (Cell/B.E.) technology? This Bachelor of Science fully credited course in Computer Science and Engineering will be available at Budapest Tech during the Fall 2007 semester.

Through joint collaboration with IBM Global Engineering Solutions, professors at Budapest Tech will teach the history of Cell/B.E., focus on the cross-industry applications where the technology can help, and demonstrate how the architecture is a future collaboration opportunity for companies and businesses.

In addition, the Cell Analysis Lab of Semmelweis University and 3DHISTECH have also teamed up with staff members of Budapest Tech and IBM engineers to explore how Cell/B.E. can speed up the process of digitizing historical, cytological and fluorescent slides of patient data.

The course is being supported through an IBM Faculty Award, an exclusive global award designed to foster collaboration between researches in leading universities and IBM. You can see the press release here.
