How IBM engineers are collaborating with clients, business partners, ISV's and education institutions across the globe

Each week, IBM will highlight a story from around the world where IBM engineers are collaborating with clients, business partners, ISV's and education institutions to bring the latest technology to the market in new and innovative ways.

Did you know...

...if you live in the United Kingdom (UK) you're able to sign up for car insurance where your premium is based on when, where and how often you drive? For the past few years one of Europe's largest insurance providers, Norwich Union Insurance, has teamed up with IBM and Orange UK to provide technology and telecommunications for its revolutionary 'Pay As You Drive'™ insurance program.

This unique idea derived from Norwich Union's goal of delivering the most flexible services to enhance people's lives, especially light road users. In 'Pay As You Drive,' IBM worked closely with Norwich to provide the telematic architecture, hardware and software, and device specifications, to support this innovative approach to insurance.
