Collaborating on a global scale

How IBM engineers are collaborating with clients, business partners, ISV's and education institutions across the globe

Each week, IBM will highlight a story from around the world where IBM engineers are collaborating with clients, business partners, ISV's and education institutions to bring the latest technology to the market in new and innovative ways.

Did you know...

...upstate New York is going to be the future home of the world's most powerful university-based supercomputing center? The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute revealed their plans for the supercomputer data center, which will make a tremendous impact on the Upstate economy while advancing technology to the nanoscale.

The driving force behind the super-computing center is the Computational Center for Nanotechnology Innovations (CCNI), which is a result of $100 million partnership with Rensselaer, IBM, and New York state. The goal of the CCNI is to continue advancing semiconductor technology, while also enabling key nanotechnology innovations in the fields of energy, biotechnology, arts, and medicine.

This project is two-fold, helping the future of technology and creating high-paying employment opportunities for the brightest New Yorkers. It will also encourage future generations to stay and live within the New York area.
