Each week, IBM will highlight a story from around the world where IBM engineers are collaborating with clients, business partners, ISV's and education institutions to bring the latest technology to the market in new and innovative ways. |
Did you know...
...Analog Devices Inc. ships more than 10,000 different end items to more than 60,000 customers all over the world, making its supply-chain management one of the most challenging in the semiconductor industry?
It was no small task, then, when ADI teamed up with IBM to improve their supply-chain processes and systems to better absorb market fluctuations and adjust manufacturing plans, supplies and inventory. Using a suite of supply-chain planning tools, IBM's Operational Framework for Advanced Supply Chain Planning, the team was able to successfully tackle the heavy task, and did so in record time - having a prototype up-and-running in four weeks. The entire transformation took just 11 months versus the typical industry standard of 18-24 months for a system this complex.
