The IBM BladeCenter QS22, based on the new IBM PowerXCell™ 8i multi-core processor offers extraordinary single precision and double precision floating point computing power to accelerate key algorithms such as 3D rendering, compression, and encryption. Combined with memory support up to 32GB, the QS22 can offer significant potential benefit to companies in a wide range of industries.

Along with the QS22, IBM offers the BladeCenter QS21 blade server based on the 3.2Ghz Cell/B.E. processor. The QS21 supports 2GB of processor memory and offers on board Gigabit Ethernet and optional InfiniBand networking. The QS21 is an excellent choice for applications that rely on single-precision processing and a smaller memory capability.

IBM also offers the PowerXCell 8i Processor Accelerator Board (PXCAB), a production-ready reference design sold in high volume to be embedded by equipment manufacturers in their solutions for end clients. Based on an industry standard PCI Express® (PCIe) form factor board, the board complies with the PCIe 150W Specification. This product is only available for purchase through a custom sales contract with IBM.
