If a VSE/POWER command longer than 71 characters is issued, within a VSE REXX Procedure, POWER truncates the command and sets the last byte to blank for its command parsing. These maimed commands lead to various error message like 1R52I command-code LAST OPERAND INVALID or 1R52I command-code OPERAND nn INVALID or the truncated command may be accepted but return a wrong result.

New SOCKET function:The REXX Sockets Application Program Interface (API) allows you to write socket applications in REXX for the TCP/IP environment. The REXX socket program uses the LE/VSE Support to access the TCP/IP Socket interface. The program maps the socket calls from the C programming language to the REXX programming language. This allows you to use REXX to implement and test TCP/IP applications. Examples of the corresponding C socket call are included where they apply.
