Errata
IBM z/OS Management Facility Configuration Guide, SA38-0652-07: In the topic on error categories and the associated error codes for the z/OS jobs REST interface, a number of reason codes were omitted from Table 48 "Category 6 Errors," which appears on pages 263 - 264 of the PDF. The next edition of this publication will add the following reason codes for Error Reporting Category 6, which describes errors produced or detected in the service layer.

| 4 | 4 | Value of query parameter is not valid | The query parameter identified in the message contains incorrect characters or exceeds the allowable length. In the message, the query parameter is owner, prefix, or jobid. |
| 4 | 14 | Unsupported encoding | For a submitted job, the Content-Type request header specified an unsupported character set (charset). |
| 4 | 15 | DD names are not supported for submitted input | For the submitted job, the value of the filename property in the JSON document started with //DD, which is not supported. |
| 4 | 16 | Data set not found | For the submitted job, the data set specified in the JSON document was not found. This error can occur if the data set is not catalogued. |
| 4 | 17 | Submit input data does not start with a slash | For the submitted job, the first character of the input JCL is not the EBCDIC slash character. Possible causes include:

| 4 | 18 | Submit input filename must be absolute path | The z/OS UNIX file specification in the JSON document was not an absolute path. |
| 4 | 19 | Internal reader mode must be RECORD for data set submission | For a job that is submitted from a data set, the internal reader mode, if specified, must be set to RECORD. |
| 4 | 22 | Internal reader RECFM does not match data set RECFM | For a job that is submitted from a data set, the internal reader record format, if specified, must match the record format of the existing data set. |
| 4 | 23 | Internal reader LRECL does not match data set LRECL | For a job that is submitted from a data set, the internal reader logical record length must match the logical record length of the existing data set. |
| 4 | 24 | Content type not valid for internal reader mode | The values specified for Content-Type and internal reader mode are not a supported combination. |
| 4 | 31 | Request header not supported by primary JES subsystem | The request header identified in the message is not supported by the primary JES subsystem. |
| 4 | 32 | Error parsing JSON input | For the submitted job, an exception occurred when the input JSON document was processed. Possible causes include the following:

| 4 | 33 | Data set is migrated | The z/OS data set specified in the JSON document is migrated. No recall was issued. No job was submitted. |
| 4 | 34 | Recall issued for migrated data set | The z/OS data set specified in the JSON document is migrated. A recall without waiting was issued. No job was submitted. |
| 8 | 2 | EOF encountered before all requested bytes read | Internal read state error. The expected number of bytes were not available to be read before the end-of-file (EOF) was encountered. |
