The chart below compares the performance of the XPLINK and non-XPLINK compiled versions of the V1R9 XSLT processor. Significant performance improvement is demonstrated in the XPLINK case. In order to avoid the overhead involved in XPLINK/non-XPLINK communication, the XPLINK processor was called from an XPLINK application and the non-XPLINK processor was called from a non-XPLINK application.
Because of the overhead involved in communication between XPLINK and non-XPLINK compiled code, experimentation may be required to determine whether a particular mix of non-XPLINK and XPLINK compiled applications and Toolkit components is beneficial or detrimental to performance.
