z/OS Java API extensions and cookbook now available on alphaWorks for evaluation
A set of JZOS-related APIs and cookbook is available on alphaWorks for download. These APIs are intended for evaluation and non-production testing under the alphaWorks guidelines. The JZOS Cookbook 1.0.7 download contains an example inventory application and a chapter on building rich web interfaces.

Guidance on updating Java SDKs and JREs for Daylight Saving Time (DST)
The Energy Policy Act of 2005 (Public Law 109-58) was passed by the United States Congress. This law changes the time-change dates for Daylight Savings Time in the United States. Beginning in 2007, DST will begin on the second Sunday in March and end on the first Sunday in November. To guide you through the changes you need to make see Guidance on updating Java SDKs and JREs for Daylight Saving Time (DST) changes. Today IBM announced a lower cost alternative to general purpose zSeries processors. Customers can lower the cost of computing for z/OS Java-based applications by executing them transparently and without change on a zAAP.
