Schematic showing how Infoprint XT Extender transforms LCDS and metacode into AFP while maintaining the z/OS print environment Schematic of how Infoprint XT Extender transforms LCDS and metacode into AFP while maintaining the z/OS print environment.

Xerox resources, such as Job Descriptor Libraries (JDL) and Page Descriptor Entries (PDE) that control the data stream characteristics and the printing environment are stored for use at processing time to process and format jobs correctly.

The XT data stream convertor can read the print file containing DJDEs, metacodes, or a combination of both, access the converted AFP resources, and process the stored Xerox controls as it converts the print job into AFP. The result is a fully formatted AFP print file with an imbedded inline AFP Form Definition to specify processing options such as duplex printing or bin selection.
