Hardware requirements
OGL is intended to run on IBM zSeries z900 and z990 processors supported by OS/390®, z/OS®, VM or VSE, or equivalent processor hardware.
Overlays created using OGL are intended for use on printers that use the Intelligent Printer Data Stream™ (IPDS™). This includes a wide variety of cutsheet and continuous forms printers from IBM and third-party vendors.
Software requirements
OGL runs as a batch program, using one of the following methods to compile OGL source commands into objects that PSF can use for printing to an IPDS printer:
- Job Control Language (JCL) for OS/390 and z/OS
- Job Control Statements (JCS) for VSE
- Command execution in the Conversational Monitor System (CMS) environment for VM
OGL can be used in any supported release of OS/390, z/OS, VM or VSE.
To print output using the overlays created by OGL, one of the following print driver products is required:
- Print Services Facility® for z/OS
- Print Services Facility/VM
- Print Services Facility/VSE
- OS/400® with the optional PSF/400 feature Infoprint® Manager V4.2 for AIX 5L
- Infoprint Manager for Windows®
Note: New functions added to OGL are not supported by all PSF and Infoprint Manager licensed programs on the same schedules.
