Feature Benefits
Infoprint Server components. (Refer to How does it work? for individual components). Together, these components of Infoprint Server can help you lower total cost of ownership by consolidating print workloads, improving availability and productivity, enhancing data confidentiality, and protecting your investment in distributed printers and print applications. For more information on each component, refer to the Specifications tab.
Infoprint Transform products are designed to convert files from one data format to another. (Refer to How does it work? for individual components.) Leverage your existing data streams and printers, including AFP, PCL, PDF, PostScript, SAP ABAP, and SAP OTF, and keep jobs flowing with automatic print file transformation. For more reference information on the Transforms, refer to the Specifications tab.
Consolidated printer inventory. A single repository of printer definitions allows you to define all Infoprint Server managed printers in one place, including PSF printers.
Easy management of the print environment. Infoprint Central, a Web-based print management interface, lets you manage jobs, queues and printers over the Internet. You can monitor job and printer status, re-route print data sets, display job and printer messages query and change printer status, pinpoint network connectivity problems, track Infoprint Central actions by user ID and more.
Investment protection of VTAM printers while you migrate to TCP/IP. Infoprint Server Coaxial Printer Support (5655-N62) lets you drive VTAM-controlled printers. Define and manage VTAM printers from the same inventory and menu panels that you use for TCP/IP print, and extend the life of your Coax printer inventory while you transition to a TCP/IP printing network.
