Note:  Other browsers might work with z/OSMF, but have not been tested. Using these browsers might result in some z/OSMF functions being unavailable.

  • - Expected Compatible Browsers and Operating Systems

IBM expects z/OSMF to function with other browser and operating system combinations, including the following:

    • Newer versions of Internet Explorer and Firefox ESR.
    • MacOS and Linux operating systems.
    • Chrome, Safari, and other similar browsers at current maintenance levels.

The IBM Support Center will make a best effort to resolve any reported incompatibilities with these configurations.

  • - Known Browser and Operating System Incompatibilities

    • All web browsers:
      • Text-only zooming might cause z/OSMF content to display incorrectly.
    • All Internet Explorer browsers:
      • With Compatibility View enabled, your browser displays content as if you were using an earlier version of Internet Explorer. For example, Internet Explorer 9 in Compatibility View behaves like Internet Explorer 7.
      • When working with service definitions in the Workload Management task, ensure that automatic prompting for file downloads is enabled for the web link to the active z/OSMF instance.  Otherwise, when you attempt to display the File Download window, the browser window refreshes and all of your selections and unsaved changes are discarded.
    • Internet Explorer 7:
      • When using the z/OSMF ISPF task:
        • You might experience display problems. For example, when using the ISPF split screen option, the text might wrap, making it difficult to read.
        • When using cursor keys to navigate between fields, the cursor skips the read-only fields.
        • To use the cursor dependent scrolling, you must double-click a word on a line before you can scroll.
      • You might experience slow responsiveness for certain data-intensive operations. If so, consider using another supported browser.
    • Internet Explorer 8:
      • If you open multiple tabs, you might experience browser memory issues. If so, close some unneeded tabs to use less memory.
      • You might experience slow responsiveness for certain data-intensive operations. If so, consider using another supported browser.
    • Internet Explorer 10:
      • You might experience slow responsiveness when using earlier levels of Internet Explorer 10.  If so, consider using another browser or upgrading to the latest version of Internet Explorer 10.
