This page provides details of what's new in HCM for z/OS V1R13.

Improved CUADD assignment for multiple channel path connections
HCM provides a new dialog to improve the CUADD assignment for multiple channel path connections to multiple control units. This feature helps you, for example, if you have two groups of control units that you want to connect to two sets of disjoint CHPIDs, or if you want to connect a group of control units to a second processor using the same CHPID/link addresses as used for the connection to the first processor.

Hardware support
HCD provides the following new hardware support:
Processor support
HCD supports the IBM® zEnterprise™ 114 (z114) processor family (processor types 2818-M05 and 2818-M10).
Supporting new IQD channel functions
Starting with processor types 2817 and 2818, the Internal Queued Direct I/O (IQDIO) support offers two new options besides the basic HiperSockets function:
- integration with the intraensemble data network (IEDN) controlled by the zManager functions which provide access controls, virtualization and management functions necessary to secure and manage the IEDN. This functionality is called extended IQD (IQDX)
- bridging an IQD channel to an external (customer managed) network.
Support of more than seven subchannels per CIB CF
HCD supports more than seven subchannels per CIB coupling facility link (CIB CHPID), if both ends of the connection are on a zEnterprise 196 (z196) or later machine. In this case, HCD proposes a default number of 32 devices for this connection. Users can override this default with seven devices instead.
