How do I locate students with System z skills?
Follow this two-step process to find students who might be candidates for your System z development team:
- Review the list of schools at the IBM Academic Initiative System z page
- Send an e-mail to the contact listed next to the school name. This is usually the professor or department chair for the mainframe program. Ask them about their mainframe curriculum, students, and when they are available.
How do I locate schools teaching System z?
How do I get co-ops and interns for my System z development team?
Work with the contacts at the schools listed at the IBM Academic Initiative System z page. Many of the educators want to start internship programs with companies that use and or develop for the mainframe platform.
How do I encourage schools you are connected with to teach IBM System z
Follow these steps to encourage schools to develop a System z-oriented curriculum:
- Identify a contact at the school - a professor, teacher aid, department chair, dean or anyone willing to schedule a call with faculty. Use the list published at the IBM Academic Initiative System z page
- Send a note to zSkills@us.ibm.com. Identify the contact at the school and say that you would like IBM to assist with enabling the school to teach System z. We will be back in touch with you to pursue this opportunity.
