IBM Installation Services for GDPS is designed to be a solution that contains unique automation code that is highly customized to work with your zOS environment. Once installed, this application availability solution is designed to provide you with the capability to manage the remote copy configuration and storage subsystem(s), automate Parallel Sysplex operational tasks, and perform failure recovery from a single point of control, thereby improving application availability.
The IBM services specialist will assist you with planning, configuration, automation code customization, testing, onsite implementation assistance, and training for IBM's GDPS solutions.
The installation service supports either the synchronous Metro Mirror, or Peer-to-Peer Remote Copy (PPRC) or the asynchronous Extended Remote Copy (XRC), or asynchronous Global Mirror form of disk data mirroring. Either option supports Peer-to-Peer Virtual Tape Server (PtP VTS) form of tape data mirroring.
