Enhancing customer mainframe skills
In addition to addressing future mainframe skills through academic initiatives, IBM is committed to help customers build and enhance mainframe skills today.
IBM already provides a comprehensive array of customer education programs available worldwide. IBM has drawn on its extensive expertise to provide customer education programs in a variety of formats to help you learn in new ways. These education courses and programs are available today through:
- IBM mainframe IT training and training roadmaps for z/OS, z/VM and Linux on System z9 and eServer System z
- ITSO Workshops which typically feature Redbook material created by practitioners during residencies, taught by Redbook authors and conducted in partnership with IBM IT Education
- The Campus Web site, a compilation of IBM System z9 and eServer System z and TotalStorage education sorted by basic, intermediate, and advanced education, what's hot topics and publications
- IBM Academic Initiative, offering a program and resources for college level courses on the mainframe
- IBM Academic Initiative, System z™ course materials
- z/OS ease of use, simplifying z/OS management for the next generation of IT professionals. To help less experienced members of the IBM mainframe IT community feel at home, we're designing our latest ease of use enhancements with beginners in mind. Of course, more experienced users will also find our offerings useful for streamlining work and maintaining their critical skills. Our offerings include z/OS system management tools to help you with your daily tasks, educational offerings for college students and on-the-job training materials made Web-accessible for your employees
