| ALIS builds a unified ERP infrastructure with IBM and SAP — To support the new SAP applications in a Linux environment, ALIS decided to move away from the existing HP Superdome server platform and selected Intel® processor-based servers from the IBM System x range. ALIS decided to run the ERP software from SAP under SUSE Linux on IBM System x servers, with data stored on IBM System Storage DS4800 systems and an Oracle database. "What impressed us about IBM was its excellent support for Linux on the System x platform," says Oliver Butanowitz. "Competitors often say that they support Linux and produce a white paper from time to time. IBM does much more, with handbooks, drivers and support hotlines, to name but a few. The offer of enterprise-level support was the main reason for choosing IBM." |

| T-Mobile speeds business intelligence with SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence Accelerator and IBM — As part of a major upgrade to its SAP software environment, T-Mobile worked with IBM Global Technology Services to deploy the IBM Systems solution for SAP NetWeaver BI Accelerator. Based on IBM Intel-based BladeCenter technology, IBM System Storage GPFS and SAP NetWeaver BI Accelerator software, average query speed is now up to 150 times faster than before. |
