IBM Rear Door Heat eXchanger
Remove the heat generated from the back of your computer systems before the heat enters the room. Using chilled water, the IBM Rear Door Heat eXchanger can substantially reduce the heat load coming from any IBM enterprise rack.
Requiring no additional fans or electricity, the Rear Door Heat eXchanger can reduce server heat output in data centers up to 60 percent. It is designed to help:
- Alleviate the chance for mechanical fan failure
- Allow systems to air-cool without opening or removing the door
- Prevent condensation
- Attach to the back of the rack (adds five inches) so that the footprint of the racking does not change
IBM Calibrated Vectored Cooling
Integrated into all IBM System x™ and IBM BladeCenter® platforms, IBM Calibrated Vectored Cooling™ technology optimizes the path of cooled airflow through the system. It directs cool air to the areas that need it and blocks hot air from entering critical areas of the system.
