Overview Product highlights

IBM System x enterprise servers
IBM System x® enterprise servers are the ideal platform for highly consolidated, virtual server environments running today’s business-critical applications — like database processing, customer relationship management and enterprise resource planning. With multiple workloads running on the same server, performance remains important but reliability and availability become more critical than ever. IBM System x enterprise servers are built with eX4 technology, which include a unique chipset and other advanced capabilities that give you higher throughput and exceptional reliability.

The System x3850 M2 server makes it easier for IT managers to balance application workloads across up to 16 processors. With modular building blocks and high-speed interconnects you can “pay as you grow” as your business needs expand without the penalty of high up-front costs—to get the most out of your technology investment.

The IBM System x3755 server offers exceptional flexibility and performance at an outstanding price. With the x3755 you can get entry two-processor-level pricing with the flexibility to grow to exceptional four processor capabilities. This is the only x86 server with the flexibility not just to scale up, but to scale up in one-processor increments.

IBM System x rack and tower servers
The philosophy regarding IBM System x rack and tower-based servers is “innovation comes standard.” Some server vendors view uni- and two-socket servers as commodities, using off-the-shelf components to produce cookie-cutter servers with no added value. Instead, IBM X-Architecture system design begins with standard parts and adds innovation to create something more practical: outstanding dual- and quad-core performance, high availability, scalability, power efficiency and proactive manageability.

The IBM System x3650 M2, one of our new generation servers, offers significant performance upgrades and power savings over the previous generation of rack servers. Protect your IT investment with best-in-class reliability, availability, and serviceability.

IBM System x3500 M2 and System x3400 M2
These dual-socket quad-core tower servers offer maximum security to handle today’s complex deskside environments. With great flexibility, high reliability, extraordinary performance and outstanding power efficiency, these servers are designed to address the needs of your business now – and into the future.

IBM BladeCenter blade servers
By integrating servers, storage and networking, IBM BladeCenter® is helping companies in every industry sweep complexity aside. The blades contain all the necessities to run an application — processors, memory, I/O and storage. The chassis contains shared redundant power, shared hot-swap cooling, DVD, integrated Ethernet, storage, switching and consolidated powerful management. Its innovative, open design offers a true alternative to today’s sprawling racks and overheated server rooms. So toss your cables. You have nothing to lose but complexity.

The IBM BladeCenter HS22 offers outstanding performance, flexible configuration options and simple management in an efficient server designed to run a broad range of workloads. It’s the IBM “no-compromise” blade, part of the new generation server portfolio.

IBM System x iDataPlex
Massive scale-out data centers and cloud computing solutions, with thousands or tens of thousands of servers, rely on Internet-scale computing to feed the explosive growth in Web 2.0, risk analysis, high-performance computing and batch processing.

iDataPlex™ supports these demands while using less space in your datacenter by doubling the number of servers you can run in a single rack. With iDataPlex, you use less power and gain computing density—iDataPlex uses up to 40% less energy while increasing data center computing power five times.

IBM System x iDataPlex was designed to run cloud computing workloads with:

  • highly virtualized, flexible infrastructure and architecture
  • compatible, networked resources with integrated virtualization
  • single-system-like management for basic administrative tasks and event management

The dx360 M2 is the new high-performing, dense, efficient, flexible server from iDataPlex. It's designed to run high performance computing workloads at maximum speed without compromising processor speed or memory.

IBM Systems Director 6.1
IBM Systems Director 6.1 is a platform management foundation that streamlines the way physical and virtual systems are managed across a multi-system environment. It provides IT administrators with an easy-to-use, point and click, simplified management solution. Through a single user interface, IBM Systems Director provides consistent views for visualizing managed systems, determining how these systems relate to one another while identifying their individual status, thus helping to correlate technical resources with business needs. Advanced platform management functions can be seamlessly added as they are required such as IBM Systems Director Active Energy Manager and IBM Systems Director Service and Support Manager.
