System z: helping businesses like yours take back control


Dundee City Council


By introducing the IBM System z9 Business Class (BC) server running Linux under z/VM it allowed the existing IBM System z 890 server to be moved to a second site. The BC now runs more than 40 enterprise applications on Linux virtual servers across the two mainframes, implemented as well are two IBM TotalStorage DS6800 servers and IBM Metro Mirror software.

British Telecom


BT have consolidated their mainframe environment from four machines in four data centres to two IBM System z9 Enterprise Class servers in each of two data centres; with four IBM TotalStorage DS8300 enterprise disk systems for mainframe data storage; IBM Extended Remote Copy (XRC) and OMEGAMON software.
