Industry-leading data density
The IBM 1U VXA320 Autoloader with the VXA-320 Packet tape drive offers a winning combination of industry-leading data density, standard features and economy. Built around the VXA-320 Packet tape drive, the IBM 1U VXA320 Autoloader provides up to 3.2 TB data protection and includes standard features that include an integrated barcode scanner and remote management — features typically reserved for higher priced products. The IBM 1U VXA320 Autoloader offers remarkable affordability that is helping set the new standard for tape storage in its class.
Highly reliable backup solutions
Recording format of VXA technology is unique, data is written on tape in small packets and no longer tracks that required perfect track-to-head alignment. Coupled with very efficient ECC (Error Correction Code, Solomon ECC4), it offers an exceptional integrity level that helps enable data restoration from tapes that have been recorded or stored in extreme conditions.
Thanks to simple mechanism design, the IBM 1U VXA320 Autoloader offers unbeatable reliability. Associated to this intelligent design are several technical features unique to this technology, like the Variable Speed Operation (VSO) and Over scan, which allow the IBM VXA drives to operate in almost any type of IT environment.
IBM VXA-2 customers can also upgrade to the IBM 1U VXA320 Autoloader and take advantage of using their current VXA Media while doubling their capacity on the same cartridges.
Models come standard with an Ultra160 SCSI (LVDS) interface, supporting up to 86.4 GB per hour of system data transfer rate.
IBM System x VXA tape drives and autoloaders are backed by awardwinning IBM service and support.
