LTO Ultrium internal tape drives are high-capacity, high performance tape drives. Both models are ideally suited for backup, restore and archive applications and provide excellent performance and reliability in stand-alone, automated and SAN-attached environments.
With superior performance and capacity, the LTO internal tape drives are an excellent alternative to SDLT, ¼ inch, 4mm or 8mm tape drives
To help meet the twin challenges of today’s enterprise environment—rapid data growth and shrinking backup windows—IBM® has introduced the second-generation IBM TotalStorage® Ultrium® Tape Drive T400/T400F. Using advanced technologies, this tape drive offers more than twice the data transfer rates of the preceding generation and doubles the cartridge capacity when used with the new Ultrium 2 media.
The third-generation IBM TotalStorage® Ultrium Tape Drives T800 (SCSI) and T800F (Fibre Channel) are designed to help meet the storage challenges faced by IT organizations today. First, there is the enormous growth in data, fueled by business continuity, regulatory compliance and information lifecycle management initiatives. Then, there are initiatives to improve IT operations, such as infrastructure simplification, improved administrative productivity and more reliable, cost-effective data protection.
The IBM System Storage™ T800V (SCSI) Tape Drive is an excellent tape storage solution for businesses requiring backup or low-cost, real-time archiving of their data within a small window of time. The new T800V has a storage capacity of up to 800 GB (with 2:1 compression), which is double the capacity of the Ultrium 2 technology. Along with its high capacity, the performance of the T800V Tape Drive has more than doubled over the previous generation of HH LTO drives in the market for a native data transfer rate of up to 60 MBps. The T800V Tape Drive provides an excellent alternative to slower and smaller capacity 1/4", 4 mm and 8 mm digital linear tape (DLT) or super linear digital tape (SDLT) tape drives.
