The IBM System Storage and Symantec relationship
IBM works closely with Symantec to support optimum interoperability of IBM storage with Symantec's Veritas storage management software. IBM and Symantec work together to enable Veritas multipathing software (DMP) as well as the NAS data transport protocol (NDMP) and to allow Veritas software to utilize the advanced hardware data replication capabilities of IBM storage.
IBM storage products and Veritas software are tested together with IBM System p™ servers, IBM System x™ servers, and select third party servers to work well under Unix/Linux and Windows, including basic enablement and utilization of advanced features:
