Rapid data recovery is based on maintaining a second disk-resident copy of data that is consistent to a point-in-time as close to the time of a failure as possible. This consistent set of data can be used to restart systems and applications with databases. Transaction integrity backout or roll forward processing can then proceed without time-consuming database recovery actions.

It provides a single point of control for automated failover. It manages and protects data for both planned and unplanned exception conditions in a heterogeneous open systems environment. eRCMF can bring up a remote site with just a Database restart and data consistency is guaranteed and can be adapted to user needs.
