TPC SAN Storage Planners (440 KB)
The TPC SAN Storage Provisioning Planners provide a comprehensive suite to assist the storage administrators in the various steps involved in storage provisioning. To provision storage for a workload and to enable the necessary hosts to access it, the administrator traditionally needed to decide where to create the volumes for it and how many so as to meet the required capacity and performance requirements of the new workload and the current performance utilization of the various storage system components. The Volume Planner, Path Planner, and Zone Planner functionalities in TPC 3.3 ease some of these burdens on the administrator and free them up to work on more mission-critical tasks.

Managing Storage Area Network Configurations(340 KB)
Storage administrators are increasingly turning to more sophisticated management tools to help them overcome these challenges. Storage Resource Management tools are focused on helping the storage administrator deal with configuring these modern IT storage networks. These tools provide a comprehensive view of the end to end storage infrastructure, from the hosts, through the fabric network to the storage arrays.
IBM provides a broad portfolio of storage management solutions to help streamline data control from end to end (332 KB)
For many companies competing in today's global economy, maintaining availability of mission-critical data and applications is no longer a goal—it is a business necessity.
