The SETSMS command is used to change SMS Parmlib control information after IPL such as:
- Switch Control Data Sets (ACDS/COMMDS)
- Activate a Storage Management Policy (SCDS)
- Backup Active Storage Management Policy (SAVEACDS)
- Change Interval time for SMS Sysplex synchronization
- Change Interval time for device Cache statistics updates
- Activate or Modify SMS internal
