Administrators can easily monitor and report storage usage and can create different classes of storage for different users or departments within an organization.

IBM SmartCloud Storage Access enables organizations that offer private cloud storage services to:

  • Increase productivity—The solution helps increase productivity by enabling collaboration among employees or departments within an organization. Regardless of the location, users can access the latest files. Additionally, the solution allows end-users to provision their own storage, reducing or eliminating administrative delays. End-user satisfaction and productivity are increased while providing faster access to storage capacity.
  • Improve total cost of ownership (TCO)—IBM SmartCloud Storage Access helps eliminate the time required for complex planning and integration. Organizations can rapidly create a private cloud storage service by leveraging a cloud-optimized infrastructure coupled with IBM SmartCloud Storage Access. The resulting solution can enable automated provisioning and capacity management as well as an efficient infrastructure that includes automated migration of data to low-cost storage tiers such as SATA and tape.
