IBM's DFSMS Optimizer provides performance analysis and Management Class analysis capability enabling you to understand how you are managing data today, simulate the impact of change, and analyze your data management costs. The Optimizer also includes the HSM Monitor/Tuner for real-time monitoring and automation of HSM functions and the Workstation Charting Facility for viewing and presenting graphical representations of Optimizer reports.
Optimizer Release 2 is available as either a feature of DFSMS V1R2 (or higher), or as a standalone product, the DFSMS Optimizer for MVS/ESA and OS/390 (program number 5655-OPT).
The DFSMS Optimizer runs on any IBM processors supported by MVS/ESA.
