Policy-based automation enables event action based on business policies. It sets performance thresholds for the devices based on selected performance metrics, generating alerts when those thresholds are exceeded. Productivity Center for Disk helps simplify the complexity of managing multiple SAN-attached storage devices.

Tivoli Storage Productivity Center’s ability to collect asset data and capacity data without deploying resident agents on the servers improves performance and simplifies server data collection while reducing burden on IT administrators to monitor agents.
