  • New TS7700 Virtualization Engine 4-way Grid

    IBM TS7700 Virtualization Engine solutions have been enhanced to include support for 4-way Grid configurations. A 4-way Grid can provide a high-availability solution both in a production site and in a disaster recovery site. Other new features include support for both TS7740 and TS7720 Virtualization Engines to reside in the same Grid, which provides back-end tape support for the TS7720 cache centric model.

  • High density frames - Low cost storage.

    IBM System Storage TS3500 Tape Library new firmware update will allow configurations with high-density frames to store at maximum library capacity: more than 20,000 LTO Ultrium Tape Cartridges (16 PB of uncompressed data), or more than 15,000 3592 tape cartridges (15 PB of uncompressed data), increasing total capacity up to 190% in the same system footprint. Other enhancements include key path diagnostics on the web interface, audit logging, and EKM communication failures.
