The IBM System Storage DS4000 series is a family of storage enclosures that support end-to-end 4 Gbps capable Fibre Channel interface technology. The DS4800 models offer:
- Dual RAID controllers standard
- Up to 1724 Mbps throughput
- Capacity up to 224 disk drive modules* with the attachment of DS4000 EXP810 Expansion Units
- Supports both Fibre Channel and SATA disk drive modules and an intermix of EXP100, EXP710, and EXP810 Expansion Units
- Offers up to 16 GB cache battery-backed (2 GB addressable)
- Eight host ports and eight drive ports-Fibre Channel (FC) Switched and FC Arbitrated Loop (FC-AL) standard, auto-sensing 1 Gbps/2 Gbps/4 Gbps
- IBM System Storage™ DS4000™ Storage Manager
