The DR550 and DR550 Express are delivered as integrated solutions. Clients may elect to install, implement, upgrade, and migrate data to their DR550s independent of IBM. However, services are made available for clients who need assistance.

IBM Implementation Services for the IBM System Storage Data Retention Solution, can be ordered through IBM Global Services ITS. Through this service IBM will install, implement, perform a function test and configure system storage archiving rules and data retention policies.

IBM Implementation Services for the IBM System Storage Data Retention Solution – onsite software/firmware upgrades. This is a three year contract that entitles the client to onsite upgrade services of all software and firmware components within the DR550. This service is performed up to two times per year.

MES Upgrades are available for both hardware and software - When ordering MES hardware services clients receive an Equipment Modification Contract. For software, for clients with a software maintenance contract, installation support is offered via telephone. In cases, where IBM assistance is needed, an hourly assist statement of work can be created and the work performed for time and material.

IBM RAID Conversion Services for the IBM System Storage DR550 assist with the conversion of the default RAID5 configuration of the IBM System Storage DR550 product to a RAID10 setup.

IBM Implementation Services for TotalStorage FAStT copy –remote volume mirroring assist customers in the planning and implementation of a remote volume mirroring solution to enhance their data protection requirements. These features allow two real-time synchronous or asynchronous copies of the data to be maintained on DR550s in separate locations

Content Manager/Content Manager OnDemand Migration Assessment – Some clients may desire to migrate from some existing technology to a DR550. IBM CM Services team will assess general system status and the source system architecture, document preliminary output file definition, define a copy process for migrating source data from an existing storage device and legacy application to the DR550.

IBM System Storage Upgrade from DR450 to DR550 This service is performed at the request of clients who wish to upgrade from an existing DR450 to a DR550. It entails modifying the server(s), switch, DS4100, upgrade of code and adding a console to an existing rack.

Three Year Maintenance Upgrade for the DR450/DR550/DR550 Express Components is a warranty service upgrade and maintenance service. All IBM System Storage DR550 hardware and software can be upgraded to include same-day, 24x7, four-hour response for a term of three years.
